Beauty. Michael Kors Joins Estee Lauder For Color Collection

 

Michael Kors is planning another big hit and not in fashion. The designer and Project Runway judge has joined forces with the Estee Lauder brand for his very first color collection. "Very Hollywood" will be synonymous with his fragrance of the same name launched this September under the Aramis and Designer Fragrances division of the Estee Lauder Cos. Inc.

The colors will approach Hollywood glamour from a natural point of view: sheer lipsticks and healthy bronzed glows. The base colors for the collection will be beige, pinks, corals and a hint of shimmer, almost a natural beach-y look. Kors wanted that natural look in his collection from the start. "That's something that was really new to Estee Lauder," said Aerin Lauder, senior vice president of Estee Lauder. "It is an interesting way for us to look at color."

And Kors knows exactly how important this will be when deciding on a luxury look. "When you put this makeup on, suddenly you feel attainable glamour," Kors told WWD. "You walk into the office, and no one would say, 'Is that a new lipstick?' You look glamorous without looking painted... That would be your Hollywood moment."

The makeup will hit department stores this coming January and will run in-store for three to four months.
