I can't account for my addition. I adore Eileen Gray, my walls are the perfect shimmering universal grey, and when Jasper Johns' Gray exhibition was at the Art Institute of Chicago I was a repeat visitor. Indeed, there is something a little mysterious about this color-- neither black nor white and with the same precise tonality as white (there are a million variations)-- it feels comforting in its odd neutrality. Of course, naysayers will warn against it's foreboding aura-- but when paired with bright, expansive shades of yellow gray becomes youthful, fresh and oh so contemporary. - Joanne Molina
