Mother's Day Gift Ideas. Not Your Usual Scarf & Perfume Ideas. Second City Style Fashion Blog
With Mother's Day so close, there have been a plethora of 'suggestions' coming at us from every direction. I don't know about you, but my mother is impossible to shop for, buys every thing she wants/needs herself and isn't easy to surprise. Therefore, your average bottle of Shalimar, gardening tool du jour or Hermes scarf isn't going to work. Here are some suggestions that just may do the trick. See if you can guess which of these I am giving to my mother.
Give Mom pearls...
A Blackberry Pearl, that is. Around $350 (less if purchased with a plan).
This Hermes Horn Hair Comb has old Hollywood glamour written all over it. $190 at Hermes.com
Pucci darling...
This Limited-Edition Pucci Eye Set for $75 at NeimanMarcus is chalk full of Guerlain cosmetics. It includes four eyeshadows, two eye pencils, and a Lengthening and Curving Mascara. The best part is that Mom can remove the product and have a little purse—tres chic.
Give Mom some lip...
Edward Bess Lip Wardrobe $350 at EdwardBess.com or Bergdorf Goodman. The wardrobe includes ten lipsticks (neutral nudes to dramatic reds) and five glosses to layer or wear alone. The formulations are vitamin enriched to provide maximum hydration. Mu mother and I met the adorable Edward Bess at Bergdorf's a few weeks ago. She bought a couple of his lipsticks...LOVES them.
For the woman who really has everything...
Peggy Guggenheim Sunglasses $175 at GuggenheimMuseum. Originally designed for Peggy Guggenheim herself by American artist Edward Melcarth, these reproductions are made in Italy. Includes a silver lamé case. Come on, pretty unique no?
Before you laugh...
StriVectin-SD Intensive Repair $135 at Strivectin.com. This anti-wrinkle cult classic originally formulated for stretch marks (but lasts for six months for the face), will keep Mom looking young for years. In fact, better get yourself one too!
Keep her high and dry...
Burberry Script Umbrella $225 at SaksFifthAvenue. This super cute wood-handled umbrella will have Mom singing in the rain.
